Biography
Phoenix native, Nancy Farmer, earned her Bachelor's degree at Reed College in 1963. She then enlisted in the Peace Corps, where she was active from 1964 to 1965. When she returned home, she studied chemistry and entomology at the University of California in Berkeley. She eventually decided to move to Africa, and spent over a year living on Lake Cabora Bassa in Mozambique. She met her husband in Harare, and they married in 1976. The two now live in Menlo Park, California.
